Quadradial Tape Deck

The SONY TC-277-4 is loaded with sophisticated features designed to make 4-channel recording both simple and gratifying. Each channel has its own Microphone Input, Auxiliary Input, Independent Level Control and Illuminated VU Meter.

Tape can be threaded quickly and easily, thanks to the Retractomatic Pinch Roller that provides a clear, accessible tape path when the tape deck is in the stop mode.  And during fast-forward or rewind, Automatic Tape Lifters prevent contact between tape and tape heads to assure longer head and tape life.

Also built in is a Record Equalization Selector Switch that provides optimum results with either standard or low noise/high output tape.  For continued excellent reproduction quality, there's a Scrape Flutter Filter, which stabilizes the tape and reduces modulation distortion to an inaudible level.

Designed for either vertical or horizontal operation, the SONY TC-277-4 is a common-sense way to add 4-channel excitement to your high fidelity system.

Note: Some Sony brochures also state ¼ track mono record/playback is possible, however only two record switches are present on the front panel, which switch front and rear channels in pairs, making true mono recording impossible.
